“My mission is to empower individuals to walk a conscious healing journey — one in which we remember, respect, and ritualize the ancestral and indigenous practices that regenerate our true nature as joyful beings.”
Maya is an author, herbalist, and culinary nutritionist.
She spent her twenties building an impressive resume and gaining educational and professional experience in the fields of dietetics & nutritional sciences, physical therapy, personal and group fitness coaching, and yoga. Her writing and recipes have been featured in notable blogs and she has been featured as a speaker at several conferences for women and creatives. In 2021, Maya partnered with Penguin Random House to publish her first book, the High Protein Plant-Based Diet for Beginners.
Maya’s intended career as a sports dietitian received a major pivot when her personal healing journey & divine guidance led her to discover an innate talent and passion for community herbalism.
Her unique training has allowed her to bridge the worlds of evidence-based health practices and ancient intuitive wisdom. She uses tools such as herbalism, nutrition, meditation, breath work, and yoga to help clients create deep healing within their minds, bodies, spirits, and communities.
While her education, enthusiasm, and experience have led her to become an influential young voice in holistic wellness, she approaches each day with the intention of simply being in harmony with what the world needs — more light.
Maya lives, creates and regenerates in Santa Barbara, California. She can be found leading community healing at Pura Luna Apothecary.
